Position Title: Project Manager
Reports To: Program Manager
Direct Reports: None
Indirect Reports: Varies (Delivery Teams)
 

Role Overview

This role is responsible for delivering projects for Unico.  The role coordinates delivery teams (people), manages pre sales customer relationships with sales and delivery teams (stakeholders), performs project management (delivery), and develops project delivery strategies for projects to ensure efficient and risk mitigated project delivery (strategy). The role is responsible for the end to end project delivery for the project from pre sales to support.

 

Main Activities:

People (10%)

  • Recruiting, selecting, and orienting team members
  • Building a culture of delivery orientation and continuous improvement
  • Ensuring a customer-centric approach fostering a positive customer experience

Stakeholders (20%)

  • Building trusted relationships with customer stakeholders (Clients)
  • Building effective relationships with business stakeholders (Sales, Delivery, and Support)
  • Resolving escalated project issues and communicating outcomes with stakeholders
  • Assisting Sales in identifying and winning new opportunities
  • Contributing to PMO providing management with a high level of visibility and control

Project Delivery (60%)

  • Ensuring Project Management Plans, Communication Management Plans, Work Breakdown Structures, and Project Status Reports are in place for all projects
  • Capturing, tracking, and reporting consistent status reporting across all projects – including scope, time, cost, quality, resources, issues and risks
  • Coordinating cost and effort estimates for proposals in support of pre-sales activities
  • Contributing to program management governance, project management standards and guidelines
  • Ensuring projects forecast and secure resource allocations and workload is balanced across delivery teams
  • Ensuring accurate time sheet reporting for all projects
  • Ensuring artefacts are centrally managed, complete and accessible
  • Managing escalation and tracking of impediments
  • Facilitating project retrospectives with delivery team

Strategy (10%)

  • Supporting the Program Manager in ensuring Project delivery is aligned with the Program plan, which is structured to achieve against the Business Unit, business plan
  • Contributing to and delivering against a PMO continuous improvement roadmap
  • Supporting the business in building a reputation of delivering on-schedule on-budget to-function solutions
  • Ensuring that delivered projects conform to customer expectations end-to-end from pre-sales to support
  • Ensuring P&L outcomes through converting opportunities and delivery of revenue against optimal cost options

 

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with project management in a technology environment
  • Experience with delivery in IT and Telecommunications domains

Desirable

  • Experience in IT professional services delivery
  • Experience managing a diverse portfolio of projects
  • Experience in driving and implementing tactical plans

Qualifications

  • Essential:
  • PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
  • Bachelor degree in an IT discipline
  • Desirable:
  • Agile PMI certified Program Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
  • SCRUM Master Certification
  • Master’s degree in an IT related discipline
