More than 1,000 Red Cross volunteers and staff from across the State were activated to assist with flood relief operations, providing personal support, family registration, and catering.

As water subsides in some towns, Red Cross is working to help communities begin the recovering process, providing personal support and practical resources in recovery centres across the affected areas.

• Flooding across western Victoria affected 97 towns and about 3,300 properties. More than 1,300 Australian Red Cross volunteers and staff have supported the relief and recovery effort.
• Red Cross is conducting telephone outreach support.
• Red Cross has assisted more than 8,300 people since the floods began to find out about the safety of family and friends.
• Australian Red Cross, in partnership with the Victorian Government, has received more than $5.3m for the Victorian Floods Appeal.
